"Damaged goods-returned to sender"

Colossians 3:10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

We all expect life to deliver us a certain degree of happiness but sometimes a lot of what we actually get is damaged goods. Those packages of rejection, anger, unforgiveness and fear arrive at the most unexpected times in broken pieces.

For instance:

Rejection from a loved one such as a spouse or parent.

Anger at the person or company that swindled you out of your life savings.

Unforgiveness toward someone that murdered your family member.

Fear of losing your job, rendering you unable to pay the rent and thus becoming homeless.

The great news is that we have a letter directly from God. (Similar to the one you would receive if you had a damaged package from Amazon or Ebay) It's the Bible.

He tells us in His letter we can package up all those damaged emotions and send them to Him. Even though he's not the original sender, He is your Creator and he will heal you and make you a brand new whole package again for His glory!

Pray this to your Creator:

Rejection-God please help me to know that only what you say about my character and my future is truth, not what others say or do to me.

Fear-God please help me to trust that you are more wise, more loving and more powerful than any problem I will ever face.

Anger-God please give me the patience and wisdom to handle what is really going on within me and not lash out at others.

Unforgiveness-God please help me cast aside my anger and resentment so I can be healed and eventually pray for those who harmed me.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20 NIV

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

It's your choice

John 4:13-Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. 14But anyone who drinks the water I give will never be thirsty again. The water I give people will be like a spring flowing inside them. It will bring them eternal life.”

Metaphorically in God's word, water means knowledge. In this passage from the Bible Jesus was at a water well talking to a Samaritan woman, who had been married 5 times, and was living with her new man. These days she was what some call "thirsty". She was indeed looking for something and this day at the well, she found it. She found the only thing to stop up the hole inside her, something to put a stop to her search once and for all. What she found was our most gracious, loving Saviour of the world. Basically, He told her He could be "water that would be like a spring flowing inside her". Remember, for something to flow it must have a source from which the flow comes from. It's Jesus living inside us once we choose HIM. He fills us so we don't have to be thirsty. So, instead of being "choosey" with things and people in our lives we think will make us whole, why not choose Jesus? Then we won't have to be thirsty ever again. Hmmm.......I CHOOSE Jesus so I don't ever have to be thirsty again.I don't want the salt water out here-it dries out my insides!!!

TWILIGHT

Manna (Hebrew) is an edible substance that God provided for 40 years to the Israelites during their travels in the desert. Manna is treated as a natural but unique substance created during the twilight of the sixth day of Creation.

When I really thought about it, I realized I was just as ungrateful as the Israelites. That was hard for me. Maybe you have the same struggle. Here's what I did: I cancelled my pity party, became grateful for the smallest of things, started trusting God (slowly but surely) and grabbed hold of the light...my Twilight of life.

Psalms 78:22-25-He was angry with Israel because they did not trust in him. They did not believe that God could save them. But then God opened the clouds above, and manna rained down on them for food. It was as if doors in the sky opened, and grain poured down from a storehouse in the sky. These people ate the food of angels. God sent plenty of food to satisfy them.

Question: Have you ever wondered why God created a substance to sustain his people during the "twilight" of the sixth day of Creation?
